Licencing

Prometheus is available as freeware and as a commercial product.

The freeware of Prometheus is limited to 1 engine, 1 track and 1 fuel.

The commercial version of Prometheus is currently free and will remain free for the forseeable future. It is therefore in your interest to obtain a free full licence now. A full licences also entitles you to future upgrades.

Ventimore reserves the right to charge for the use of the non-freeware version of Prometheus in the future. It is expected that Prometheus will cost £25 or equivalent.

Obtaining a full licence

Obtaining a full licence takes a few steps.

Step 1: Delete the "Prometheus Licence.vmb" file on your desktop. If you have a fresh installation, this will be a freeware licence.

Step 2: Run Prometheus. The following dialog will be displayed.

Click on "OK". The dialog will disappear. Prometheus will generate a new file named "Prometheus Licence Request.vmb" on your desktop.

Step 3: Send an email to support@bowmain.com requesting a licence and attaching the generated licence request file to the email.

If you attempt to run Prometheus before you have registered it, the following message will be displayed.

Step 4: Ventimore will then send a a new licence file back to the user, again called "Prometheus Licence.vmb". Save the file to the desktop.

You can check that you have a full licence by starting Prometheus and selecting the About menu option.

Transfering a licence

A Prometheus licence will only allow the software to run on the computer it was originally installed on. If you want to transfer the licence to another computer, please contact support@bowmain.com and we will issue you with another licence.
